The Future Me Week 3

For this week's class, we were all assigned to do a video based on what we would have achieved in the future, to be specific: where we will be at in the next five years in our lives. We used an online application called Powtoon.

Powtoon is a British company which sells cloud-based software for creating animated presentations and videos. Of course, you would have to pay/ subscribe to get access to the whole application however, the free version of it is also as awesome. You can go to the website by clicking the link below

First, you would have to log in or register if you're new to the application. I highly recommend registering by using your Facebook or Google for an easier process.

Second, you will be directed to a page as shown above, you can choose what type of template that you would like to use for your video.

Thirdly, if you would have to change the setting by clicking the 'create' button. If you wish to do in a presentation mode, please skip this part. Then, you would have to name your project based on what topic are you doing your video on. You can navigate through the video by going through the bar on the left side of the screen You could also add or deduct seconds on by clicking the + / - button at the bottom of the screen. Other than that, you will also be able to see how many item is in that particular part of the video by clicking the numbers at the bottom of the screen.

If you would like to change the background of the video, you can refer to the bar on the left side of the screen. You can also get fun pictures and animated stickers on your video. To edit, drag the stickers to your designated place. To change the size of the stickers, you would have to click and adjust it by moving your mouse according to the size that you want.

If you are feeling a little bit extra and would like to put your own picture in the video, you can do so by uploading your picture in the app.

For the writings, you would have to click on the box and a small bar will appear. By using this bar, you can change the way your alphabets looks and animate how your words will appear/ disappear in the screen.

Another interesting feature of this app is that if you want to put your own voice in the video, it is totally do - able. All you have to do is record it and upload it in the application. A variety of sounds are also available for free.

Once you are done with you video, don't forget to save it by clicking the 'save' button on the upper right side corner of the screen.

I've been exploring this app and this app is absolutely beginners' friendly.

Good luck and have fun on producing your own video
